Your website
Set up Google Ads and Meta remarketing
Glovebox can run your own Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) marketing tags on your booking site and widget, so you can build remarketing audiences and measure bookings as conversions. You bring the IDs from your own ad accounts; nothing is shared between operators, and it is all off until you enter your IDs.
Turn it on
Go to Settings → Widget & tracking and paste in whichever IDs you have. Any you leave blank simply do nothing. You can add them one at a time.
Where to find each ID
- GA4 Measurement ID (looks like
G-XXXXXXX): in Google Analytics, Admin → Data streams → your web stream. The Measurement ID is at the top right. - GA4 API secret (for measuring bookings server-side): same Data stream → Measurement Protocol API secrets → Create. Copy the secret value.
- Google Ads conversion ID (
AW-XXXXXXXXX) and label: in Google Ads, Goals → Conversions → New conversion action → Website. When you create the action, the tag shows asend_tovalue ofAW-XXXXXXXXX/aBcDeFg— the first part is the conversion ID, the part after the slash is the label. - Meta Pixel ID (a 15–16 digit number): in Meta Events Manager → Data sources → your pixel. The ID is under the pixel name.
The four audiences worth building
Once the tags are live, create these in Google Ads / GA4 and in Meta. They map to the events your site already sends:
- Cart abandoners — 7 days. People who started checkout but did not book. Built from the
begin_checkoutevent with no matchingpurchase, 7-day membership. Your highest-intent audience. - Vehicle viewers — 14 days. People who looked at a specific vehicle. Built from the
view_itemevent, 14-day membership. - All visitors — 30 days. Everyone who visited, for broad reach. 30-day membership.
- Upcoming-pickup window. Your site sends a
search_datesevent carrying adays_to_pickupvalue, so you can target people whose pickup is close (a last-minute nudge) or still weeks away (an upsell), usingdays_to_pickupas an audience condition.
Import bookings as Google Ads conversions
Link the accounts once: in GA4, Admin → Google Ads links → Link to your Google Ads account. Then in Google Ads, Goals → Conversions → New → Import → Google Analytics 4 and import purchase (and, if you want, begin_checkout). Bookings then show as conversions with their real dollar value, so you can bid to them.
Meta custom audiences from your pixel
In Meta Ads Manager → Audiences → Create audience → Custom audience → Website, build the same list using your pixel events: ViewContent (vehicle viewers), InitiateCheckout (abandoners), and Purchase (past customers, handy as an exclusion so you do not pay to advertise to people who already booked). Use the same 7 / 14 / 30-day windows.
A note on visitors in Europe and the UK
Visitors from the EEA and the UK are not tracked by these tags. That is deliberate: those regions require explicit cookie consent, and Glovebox does not yet show a consent banner, so we take the privacy-safe path and simply do not tag them. Your New Zealand, Australian and other traffic is unaffected. If a share of your customers comes from Europe and you want to reach them too, tell us — a consent banner is on the roadmap.
