The Rental Operator's Playbook
How rental businesses actually make money
Nobody tells you where the money actually is in this industry. Everyone assumes it is in renting the cars. It is not. The daily rate barely covers the boring costs, and the real margin lives in the stack wrapped around the hire: the excess reduction, the damage you can actually recover, and the extras that quietly leak when nobody is tracking them.
We run Jimny Rentals and Dream Drives. We have handed over the keys at 3am, argued the panel bills, and reconciled the bonds. Everything here is what we wish someone had handed us on day one. We give it away because a bigger, better run rental market is good for all of us, and our competition is other software, not other operators.
