Charge for one-way hires

A car dropped at another branch has to get home. One-way fees cover that, and you can price each route separately.

Add a fee for a specific from-and-to pair of branches. Auckland to Wellington can cost something different from Wellington to Auckland, because the cost to you is different — one direction may be a car you needed moved anyway.

The fee is added automatically when a customer books that route on your booking page.

Pricing it honestly

The real cost is getting the car back: a driver, or a discounted one-way offer to a customer going the other way. Repositioning can help with the second — see Move a vehicle between branches.

If it did not work

  • No fee is being added. Check there is a fee for that exact direction; a route defined one way does not cover the return.
  • The fee is wrong on a booking made before you changed it. Existing bookings keep the fee they were quoted.
  • Move a vehicle between branches Cars end up in the wrong place. A transfer books the vehicle out for the move so nothing is hired from under it, and repositioning suggests the moves worth making.
  • Set up pickup and return locations Locations are the branches customers choose when they book. This covers adding one, the two switches that decide whether it shows as a pickup or return point, and where to add delivery or one-way fees.
