Guide

Test two versions of your wording

Try two wordings of the same thing and let your customers decide. Useful for protection plan names and similar labels where opinion is cheap and evidence is not.

This guide answers

  • Can I A/B test my booking page?
  • How do I test two protection plan names?

Settings → Split testing.

Create a test, give it the thing you are testing and the two variants, and customers are shown one or the other. Over time you can see which one performs.

The obvious use is protection plan names — whether "Peace of mind" outsells "Reduced excess" is not something anyone can tell you from an armchair, and it is worth real money on every booking.

Making it worth doing

  • Change one thing. Two variants that differ in three ways teach you nothing about which one mattered.
  • Leave it running. A day of traffic is noise. Give it enough bookings that the difference is not chance.
  • Decide in advance what would make you switch, then honour it. It is easy to keep a test running until it agrees with you.

If it did not work

  • Nothing seems to be happening. Tests need traffic through your booking page; admin bookings are not part of it.
  • The numbers are close. That is a result. It means the wording is not what is holding you back, and you can stop thinking about it.
